I’m so excited for this post! These are some of my favorite posts to read and I’m always looking at Pinterest posts to see how people organize and use their planners. My 2018 planner is currently out of stock, but I attached a link for reference here if you’re curious. I have used a Rifle Paper Co. planner for the past two years and I love it! I like that the inside pages are simple so I can color-coordinate my classes and use washi tape and stickers without it looking too busy. There’s a pocket in the back of the planner that I use for my stickers and flags. Most of my washi tape is either from the dollar spot in Target or Michael’s.
This is the planner that I use for all of my assignments, exams, and school related events. I have found that the most beneficial way to use my planner is to write every assignment in the monthly overview at the beginning. It takes a while to write in all the dates at the beginning of each semester, but I’ve found it to be really helpful so I never forget an assignment and I know what I’ll need to do in the weeks to come. As soon as I get my syllabuses (syllabi?) from my professors, I write down the important dates for assignments, exams, presentations, etc. I like having all of my dates in one place so I’m not referring to 7 different syllabi during a given semester. I use a little sticky flag at the beginning of the week I’m on for convenience. I have a different color for each of my classes so they’re easy to differentiate. You can find my favorite colored felt tip pens here. For everyday reminders, I tend to put a post-it note next to the day in my weekly view. Each day I look at the monthly view of my planner to see what I need to get done that day. If I have a time sensitive reminder, I use my phone because I look at it more often in a day than I look at my planner. I’ve realized that I’m ok with spending a little bit more on a planner that will hold up throughout the year because of how much I use it on a daily basis. If you’re looking to get a new planner, I’ve attached some great options below!
As always, thanks for reading! (How do you like my new signature?)
